The project

A digital repository on the migrations and the diversification in the UK and Japan

The NODE UK|Japan led by the University of Birmingham’s Institute for Research into Superdiversity and Waseda University’s Institute for Asian Migrations, brings together social sciences, arts and humanities academics from the UK and Japan to develop new knowledge and insight about migration-driven socio-demographic change.

After a long of period of research and writing, they felt the need to build an archive that would make all of their studies accessible to the whole world.

We designed the website aimed to store their wide range of publications. For each one of them, we crafted an originally illustrated editorial cover.

How we did it

We deep dived into the cultures of the two countries to find aesthethic connections to develop the visual guidelines.
We designed a series of covers to represent the special issue, the policy briefs, the reports and the events.
We crafted a website that could store a great deal of information while making it both simple and pleasant to navigate.
